Anchored in the unique landscape and aspirations of the Waikato region, this project is guided by a foundation of Kaupapa Māori. Our approach is grounded in the belief that human connection is the sacred heart of education—the shared mahi, the moments of connection, and the joy of learning together. Through Whakawhanaungatanga, we will build a collaborative community that honours this principle, reflecting the spirit of partnership that unites the people of Waikato-Tainui. The aim of this shared learning is to foster Tino Rangatiratanga, empowering educators with the professional autonomy to lead and innovate with AI, influencing the next generation. We will explore how the effective implementation of AI can help automate repetitive, mundane tasks, therefore liberating our kaiako to spend more quality time fostering connections with akonga and with their own loved ones. This autonomy is guided by a deep sense of responsibility.
